Frank Katai
Frank “Ferenc” Katai, age 69, passed away peacefully on Aug. 8, 2023.
He was born in Budapest, Hungary, to Ferenc and Gizella (nee Balogh) Katai.
As a young adult Frank loved spending time at the Danube River, where he fished and swam. He moved to Cleveland in 1979 and, not long after, met his future wife, Eva. They married on July 19, 1980. Frank and Eva then moved to Chardon and started a family.
He worked for Mar-Bal Inc. for 25 years.
Frank enjoyed fishing and watching historical and comedy films. He had love for his Hungarian heritage and greatly appreciated the cuisine.
Frank and Eva regularly invited friends and family over to laugh together and share a meal.
Frank will be remembered for his sense of humor and generosity.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Eva (nee Vaszko); two daughters, Monica and Victoria (Benjamin) Stiegemeier; grandchild, Flint; and sister, Gizella.
He leaves behind many family members throughout the United States and Hungary.
Frank is preceded by his parents, Ferenc and Gizella.
A memorial service will be held at a later, with an exact date to be determined.
